Hear G.I. JOE cartoon metal band COLD SLITHER’s ripping Christmas song

G.I. Joe-themed metal act Cold Slither are looking to warm your heart this holiday the only way they know how — by once again saluting the battle-crazed cartoon property with a lore-heavy, Eighties-headbangin’ anthem. Right on cue, they’re back to note that “Cobra Claws are Coming to Town.”

The track follows the Dreadnok quartet’s 2025 self-titled debut LP,  and like that album, vocalist Zartan and his band of metal-loving mercenaries shout out plot points to an old G.I. Joe episode — specifically 1985’s seasonally spirited “Cobra C.L.A.W.S. are Coming to Town,” and the Cobra organization’s attack on Keystone City.

The tune gallops like eight tiny reindeer on an eggnog-and-energy drink bender, mixes jingle bells into the pop-chugging arrangement, demands we commit treason this season “without reason,” and even finds Cobra Commander stopping by to spread some holiday cheer.

“It’s a bloomin’ treat to once again show the yobbos why we’re the best heavy metal band in the world,” Cold Slither bassist Torch — who also produced the video — said in a statement. “Bludgers thought we was washed up, but we put out the best album of 2025! Didn’t think we could nail a Chrissie song, and we turn in a bloody ripper!”

The video features stop-motion footage of the OG Dreadnok figures gathering around the Christmas tree for a chilling Christmas story, before switching over to archival footage of the DIC-and-Hasbro-produced cartoon.

You can check out the self-described “seasonal pandemonium” of Cold Slither’s latest track in the player above, while the song is also on streamers via Reigning Phoenix Music and Hasbro.
