After freaking our senses with a frenetic debut single, former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney’s new TheBoyShadow project is now bringing us “bliss” — or, more specifically, they’ve now released a second single, which is called “BLISS BEING.”
As previously reported, Sweeney premiered the project late last moth with “Give Me A Seam & I’ll Show You the Meaning,” which we’d highlighted as being a “depraved, noise-pressed” stunner that kinda sounded like a “swarm of bees.” Since then, the group performed its first-ever show in London, and then hit a run of dates with PRESIDENT.
Now, Sweeney has unveiled the follow-up single, “Bliss Being.” It’s a gentler companion, beginning with a pineapple-sweet paradise of glossy synth tones and twitchy pop-tronic footwork. The band leader smooth-croons that he’ll “never hide this feeling.” That said, a brief power-pressed breakdown goes for the jugular.
You can hear for yourself by giving the music video a watch up above.
Both TheBoyShadow singles have been delivered via Roadrunner Records. Sweeney has been working on the project for the past four years, a time, a press release explains, wherein he “processed his demons and was able to funnel them into the songs, surrounded by fellow artists who feel like family.”
