Foo Fighters have unveiled a new live charity EP comprising recordings from their recent round of surprise concerts across the U.S. — which marked the veteran alt-rock outfit’s first batch of shows with their new drummer, Ilan Rubin.
The band’s Are Playing Where?? Vol. 1 popped up on Bandcamp earlier today (October 3rd), and features recordings from the band’s four last-minute club shows in September, which had taken the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, California, The Observatory in Santa Ana, California, CA, the famed Black Cat in Washington, D.C., and at Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut.
This first, six-song instalment features performances of five songs from Foo Fighters’ 1995 self-titled debut — including an emotional, extended “Exhausted,” and punk-gnarled and screamy run-throughs of “Weenie Beenie” and “Wattershed — as well as a performance of Wasting Light’s “White Limo.”
The live EP is currently up as a pay-what-you-want download, with proceeds set to go local charities from each city. You can stream it down below.
