After saluting their back catalogue in 2025 with a couple of volumes of re-recorded hits, Five Finger Death Punch are storming their way towards their next LP. The Vegas-based metal vets have just unveiled “Eye of the Storm,” their first single behind an impending full-length.
As previously reported, 5FDP posted a bunch of studio pics online at the end of 2025, and promised that their 2026 “will be huge.”
A press release now explains that the band had been working on upwards of 30 songs in the studio, and had initially contemplated putting together a double-LP, but have since whittled things down to a trimmer 14 or 15 songs for an upcoming, as-yet-untitled full-length effort. The record is expected later this year.
Per guitarist Zoltan Bathory, the music is “heavier than anything we’ve done in years, with a cinematic undertone running beneath it.” “Eye of the Storm” is the first preview, and it mixes a flurry of battering metal chugs with a sense of melody, plus Ivan Moody’s pensive-but-barked lyrics hinting at fears, regrets, burdens, blame, and the search for some kind of inner peace.
“This is our 10th studio album and our 20th anniversary as a band, we knew we had to hit it hard,” Bathory said in a statement. “What excites me most is that I’m hearing the early era again, that grit, that bite, that aggression, while simultaneously exploring completely new territories. I wrote the music for the entire first album and most of the second, so that energy isn’t nostalgia for me, it’s where I come from. Those are my roots.
“It feels like coming home at full speed, while my brother Ivan is bringing some incredible lyrics and melodies, and his voice sounds absolutely huge on this record. I am really looking forward to the next decade.”

As previously reported, 5FDP launch a 20th anniversary tour July 20th at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey. The massive trek runs until October, and features support from Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire.
