Dying Wish have unveiled an extremely breathtaking new video behind their forthcoming Flesh Stays Together album. Keeping in line with the asphyxiated visuals of the album’s artwork, the band are offering up a situationally suffocating clip behind the record’s “Revenge in Carnage” with a disclaimer — do not try this at home.
The video — co-directed between Imani Givertz and Dying Wish guitarist Pedro Carrillo — finds vocalist Emma Boster inside a home undergoing some heavy renos, screaming her way through lyrics like “there will be peace in our final breath.”
“‘Revenge in Carnage’ is an anthemic moment of man-made apocalyptic violence,” Boster explained of the song in a statement. “Imagine when you hear the isolated vocal starting the song that you have entered your final moment. Our final moments on this earth will not be peaceful. There’s no time for reflection, only survival”
Later, she and a pair of people end up twirling plastic sheeting around their faces through concerning rituals. The music bashes heavy through the tense, suffocating scenes — but a planes-shifting plot twist takes us into a more serene and pastoral finale. Contextually, it’s still chilling.
“The video represents the disillusion of self. The acceptance of violence and how we see ourselves in other people,” Carillo offered.
He continued: “We try to silence those thoughts with our own righteous beliefs only to be a different version of the same knife. We continue to fail to protect one another. We continue to point the finger. We continue to pretend that evil isn’t formed within our soul. If there is hope, it won’t be found in this lifetime.”

Dying Wish have U.S. tour dates on the way with Poppy and MSPAINT in September, and they’ll also be hitting Europe with PSYCHO-FRAME, Malevolence and Speed by the end of October. They’ve likewise announced a trio of headline shows in mid-September.
