Portland, Oregon quintet Dying Wish will no doubt be bringin’ it heavy to metalcore fans this spring when they head out on tour with Spiritbox. Ahead of that spring fling, though, the act have unveiled a taste of their next era via the release of a new crushing single called “I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair).”
The track is the first to arrive from Dying Wish since they dropped their Symptoms of Survival album back in 2023, and it was produced by metal production wiz and Better Lovers/Fit for an Autopsy member Will Putney.
As you can hear through the player up above, the tune initially pits punishing rhythms and noise-chunked metalcore riffery against vocalist Emma Boster’s ultra-phlegmy “bleghs” about a broken world that’s left her “fucking miserable, yet…sane.” The chorus, meanwhile, flips the script with more melody-driven vocals, but remains thematically bleak.
“‘I Brought You My Soul…’ is written about being one of many affected by the state of the world we are living in,” the vocalist shared in a statement. “Constantly witnessing the brutality and injustices has taken a toll on our collective mental health.”
She adds: “‘I am miserable yet I am sane’ references that being impacted by these tragedies happening in Gaza and on our own American soil in fact makes us normal. I fear that one day we will become numb to the events as they become more violent because we are so conditioned to living with it every day.”
Boster further confirmed that the group are putting work into a third full-length release that will present “the most authentic version of Dying Wish,” but an ETA has yet to be locked down.

As previously reported, Dying Wish join up with Spiritbox, Loathe and GEL next month for a month-long tour around North America. The 24-date trip begins April 3rd at Dallas, TX’s South Side Ballroom, and will hit both coasts and a few Canadian venues before wrapping up in May.
