Hear DRAIN’s motivational anthem “Scared Of Everything and Nothing”

The good friends they are, Santa Cruz hardcore mainstays Drain have dropped a fourth and final preview of their forthcoming …IS YOUR FRIEND album. This time around, vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro is reflecting on personal goals and a life well lived on “Scared of Everything and Nothing.”

According to the Drain frontman, the song was inspired by the “big dreams” he had as fledgling musician — and likewise just as a human — and how the past decade has seen him actualize anything from touring with his band, to getting married, to leading “a life of healthy choices.”

The song takes on a more mosh-pounded approach than poppy early preview “Who’s Having Fun,” instead tethering itself to crossover shred from guitarist Cody Chavez, and lyrics about confidently facing your fears and anxieties head on (“Shut the fuck up and remember who you are/And the reasons why you’ve made it this far”)

“This song is a reminder to enjoy the present and to just focus on the now,” Ciaramitaro adds. “It’s a reminder that no matter what people see on the outside, there’s always a fight on the inside. While that could sound bad — I think that any life worth living is going to be full of hurdles — it’s up to us to fight and push through adversity and make our realities what we want of them.

“As much as I’m running away from old problems, I am also running into new hurdles, and ya know what… I’m stoked to break them down too and keep on charging to the next one.”

As previously reported, Drain’s third full-length release, …IS YOUR FRIEND, is due out November 7th via Epitaph. A pre-order on exclusive “patina rust splash” vinyl is up for sale in Revolver’s shop.

Additionally, an interview with Ciaramitaro on his favorite spots around Santa Cruz is in Revolver’s new Fall 2025 Issue.

Drain band also have a string of fall tour dates opening up for Kublai Khan TX, and it was just announced that they’ll be performing at Coachella in 2026. You’ll find all of the upcoming tour info here.
