Sol Invicto — the long-running supergroup featuring Deftones‘ Stephen Carpenter, Cypress Hill‘s Eric Bobo and producer-guitarist Richie Londres — have kicked off a new collaboration series with British drum & bass artist Technical Itch. The first entry is a crushing single called “Clarity,” and true to its title, it offers clear insight into the project’s mission.
Full of frenetic jungle backbeats, oppressive electronic textures and Carpenter’s nasty detuned riffage, the song is described as “a dark industrial drum & bass metal hybrid” and “an aggressive, low-end driven beast,” and it more than lives up that billing.
“Clarity” is streaming now exclusively Bandcamp, with a release on physical formats promised soon. Stay tuned for that drop, plus future new music.
