Two years on from the release of Angel Du$t’s BRAND NEW SOUL, the Baltimore, Maryland, pop-and-hardcore outfit have announced they’re ready to two-step to a whole new Beat. Specifically, a three-song release dubbed The Beat is out now through new label home Run for Cover Records, and they’re promoting it with a dust-disturbing video for its title track.
The song definitely rips into speedier side of Angel Du$t’s repertoire, and comes full of pit-stirringly aggro hardcore riffs and grizzled vocals from frontman Justice Tripp. Twitching Tongues’ Taylor Young is also laying some guest screams on the track in the bridge.
As for the video, it co-stars a couple of skeleton-masked kids seemingly pulled off the set of Halloween III and a guy getting his dome smashed with a green glass beer bottle, while Tripp does the Dougie in a dirt pile. You can check that all out up above.
Down below, you can stream the 7-inch single’s other original track, “The Knife.” The release also features “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” (possibly a Minor Threat cover), which has Angel Du$t joined by Terror’s Scott Vogel, though that song is vinyl-only. You can pre-order the physicals here.
The Beat marks Angel Du$t’s first major release since issuing BRAND NEW SOUL back in 2023. The 7-inch was recorded with producer-engineer Brian McTernan, who had previously recorded Angel Du$t’s debut album, 2014’s A.D.
As previously reported, Angel Du$t are set to hit the road with Fleshwater in September, while they now have additional North American dates on the way with Narrow Head. You’ll find all of the band’s show schedule down below.
