It’s the end of March, or as we’re starting to call it around the Revolver office: Amira Elfeky season. Near-exactly one year on from the release of the nu-gaze rising star’s debut EP, Skin to Skin, she’s now delivered its similarly bite-sized follow-up, Surrender.
The Revolver favorite’s latest EP had been preceded in recent months by the singles “Will You Love Me When I’m Dead” and “Death of Me” — both of which now appear on the six-song record.
As for the newest tracks, the lead-up to the EP release included teases for the briefly djent-gressive and double-kicked “Take Me Under” and darkly anthemic nu-rocker “Crossed the Line” — visualizers for those tracks are now online in full. The artist had also previously teased Surrender’s “Forever Overdose, ” — a cut that specializes in a mix of ice cavern-deep drum machine sounds, arena-sized guitar hooks and even a full-bore scream-sesh from Elfeky during the mid-song stompout — while the EP concludes with an almost Eighties film soundtrack-anthemic cut called “Fatal Attraction.”

Beyond the new EP release, Elfeky has a handful of upcoming European festival dates in June, and she likewise will be opening a number of dates on Bring Me the Horizon’s “Ascension Program Part 01” U.S. tour this September, which likewise features Motionless in White and the Plot in You.
