GWAR announce subterranean ‘Live From the Hellmouth’ livestream via VEEPS

GWAR are primed to keep their gloriously, goofily gory 40th anniversary celebrations going this year with a newly announced livestream concert. Their no-doubt viscera-flinging online performance, billed as Live from the Hellmouth, is set to be streamed via Veeps next month.

A press release explains that the show — due to be transmitted August 22nd from Pelham, Tennessee’s iconic, naturally subterranean Caverns venue — will “celebrate four decades of intergalactic filth, fury, and fluid…by dragging humanity straight into the bowels of the Earth.”

The literally underground performance will showcase GWAR’s music, as well as the “blood, bile, body parts, and…glorious depravity that’s made GWAR the most disgusting—and beloved—shock rock band on Earth.”

“GWAR coming at you live from the very gates of hell. Talk about a shitty gated community,” vocalist Blothar quipped in a statement, adding of the upcoming Caverns set, “Not since Buffy the Vampire Slayer has a hellmouth seen so much death and destruction. We kicked the devil’s ass, and now you can watch a video stream of the whole bloody affair!”

Early bird tickets for the livestream are already on sale, with each purchase of Live from the Hellmouth giving folks unlimited replay access for seven days. VEEPS All Access members likewise get the concert as part of their subscription package.

More info can be found over on the Veeps site.

As previously reported, GWAR are also issuing their lizard-brained The Return of Gor-Gor EP and comic this Friday (July 25th) via Pit Records/Z2 Comics. A semi-transparent purple vinyl edition of the EP, which includes the comic, is currently up for pre-order in Revolver’s shop.

GWAR also have a show with Lamb of God on Thursday (July 24th), and follow up that performance with a few summer fest appearances and their impending “Gor-Gor” tour with Helmet, the Dwarves and Blood Vulture.

You’ll find the full slate of GWAR dates over here.
