Guns N’ Roses have announced that longtime drummer Frank Ferrer has exited their lineup, following a nearly two-decade run with the rockers.
A brief statement was issued from the group that explains that they’d split amicably with Ferrer, who began playing with the band all the way back in 2006.
His 19-year tenure — which pre-dated the reunion of founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan in 2016 — made him the longest-running GN’R drummer in the band’s history. During that time, he played on numerous tours, while also contributing drum tracks to the band’s 2008 LP, Chinese Democracy.
“Thank you, Frank. For the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years,” the band wrote in a group statement over Instagram, with a press release noting that the active Gunners “wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”
Ferrer’s final performance with Guns N’ Roses was the band’s November 5th, 2023 appearance at Toluca, Mexico’s Heaven & Hell Metal Fest.
GN’R have yet to announce Ferrer’s replacement, though they have a bunch of Asian and European dates taking place between May and July on their “Because What You Want N’ What You Get are Two Completely Different Things” tour, which features Public Enemy, Rival Sons and the Frank Carter-assisted Sex Pistols on select dates.

Ferrer has yet to make his own statement on his departure, and it is likewise unclear if he has any new projects in the works.
