Ghost are heading back to the big screen.
The occult-rock favorites have announced that a new concert film called 2 BIG 2 RIG will be out later this summer. The band’s second feature film, which follows 2024’s RITE HERE RITE NOW, chronicles a pair of “SKELETOUR” dates, incorporating footage from Ghost’s sold-out shows at Mexico City, Mexico’s Palacio de los Deportes last September.
While RITE HERE RITE NOW merged concert footage with fictionalized scenes that further built-up Ghost’s lore, the upcoming 2 BIG 2 RIG is reportedly a more direct concert film, one that “focuses exclusively on the Ghost live ritual.” That said, it will integrate backstage, behind-the-scenes footage of Papa V Perpetua, the Ghouls and various crew members prepping for the gigs.
Described as “a love letter to all those who have shared the Ghost ritual, in-person or otherwise,” 2 BIG 2 RIG features performances of songs from across the band’s six albums — including last year’s SKELETA — as well as non LP cuts “Mary On A Cross,” “Kiss the Go-Goat,” and “The Future is a Foreign Land.”
The film was directed by Amir Chamdin, and produced by Tobias Forge, Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Matilda E. Almeida and Jessica Roulston.
Ghost’s 2 BIG 2 RIG will be haunting cinemas and IMAX screens worldwide for a limited run, which begins August 26th. Tickets go up for sale next Thursday (July 23rd), and more info can be found here.
