Hot on the heels of their first new song in 5 years, “my mind is a mountain,” and the announcement of their upcoming album, private music, Deftones have broken more news: The beloved alt-metal trailblazers are heading back to San Diego to host their sixth “Dia De Los Deftones” festival. The band will return to the city’s outdoor Petco Park on November 21st, and this year they’ll be joined by iconic hip-hop grinders Clipse, blackgaze legends Deafheaven, Ecca Vandal and more.
Deftones officially unveiled the latest iteration of “Dia De Los Deftones” earlier today (July 22nd), confirming that the outdoor dayfest will once again be staged at Petco Park. The lineup will obviously be headlined the the curators themselves, though openers also include singer-rapper 2Hollis, rapper Rico Nasty, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Regula Caro, Texan heavy shoegazers Glare and UK act University.
Pre-sales for the 2025 edition of “Dia De Los Deftones” begin tomorrow (July 23rd) at 10 a.m. PT, while the general on-sale goes live on Friday (July 25th). You can find out more info over here.
As previously reported, Deftones uncoiled the details behind their impending private music album earlier this month. The record arrives August 22nd via Reprise/Warner Music and can be pre-ordered on limited-edition clear vinyl, as well as on CD and cassette, in Revolver’s shop.
Deftones also have a heavy show schedule ahead of their December festival set. They launch a leg of North American headlining dates at Vancouver, BC’s Rogers Arena on August 22nd, and likewise have a pair of shows with System Of A Down coming up in Toronto, Ontario.
