The ashes of Harm’s Way guitarist and HardLore podcast host Bo Lueders were brought to this weekend’s Wrestlemania event in Paradise, Nevada, where the life of the late hardcore musician was also celebrated by WWE champ CM Punk during his walk-on spot to the ring.
Earlier in the weekend, Twitching Tongues member and Lueder’s HardLore co-host Colin Young posted a photo of himself and Lueders’ partner Taylor standing inside the Allegiant Stadium while holding an urn containing Lueders’ ashes inside of it. They described the journey to the event as “Bo’s last ride,” and that they “took our guy all the way to Wrestlemania inside a sacred wrestling artifact” — likely referring to wrestling legend the Undertaker’s urn gimmick. Young likewise wore a tributary tee sporting Lueders’ image.
The Instagram slideshow also revealed that CM Punk, a longtime friend of Lueders and fellow Chicago native, spent time with the urn, as did AEW wrestler and God’s Hate singer Brody King and WWE grappler Danhausen.
Last night (April 19th), for the second evening of Wrestlemania, Punk walked to the ring to defend his title against Roman Reigns while wearing a jacket that featured Lueders’ name embroidered on the chest. It likewise featured the Chicago city flag on its sleeve, along with tributes to fallen wrestling figures Jim Shank, Kerwin Silfies, Davey Coates and Harley Race. Announcer Michael Coles explained the connection between Punk and Lueders during the broadcast.
As previously reported, Lueders passed away earlier this month, and has been tributed by numerous figures across the heavy music scene for his work with Harm’s Way, his time on the HardLore podcast, and for the friendships he forged along the way.
