MELVINS 'HOUDINI' LP

Description

Looking back, it’s pretty insane that a major label was interested in putting out a Melvins album, but the grunge explosion was a helluva drug. Atlantic Records signed the sludge pioneers for their fifth record, Houdini, and tapped a tragically struggling Kurt Cobain for the producer role, likely to capitalize off of Nirvana’s growing popularity. Things didn’t go as planned in that department, but the album remains the Melvins’ most popular work — and it’s got an iconic cover that’s deserving of our 180g gatefold edition. Eli Enis

Six tracks produced by Kurt Cobain. Cover art by legendary artist Frank Kozik. Includes the vinyl-only bonus track 'Rocket Reducer No. 62 (Rama Lama Fa Fa Fa)' originally by the MC5.
